The CJRS has been extended until September 2021, with a few changes that will directly impact employers.
As from July 1, 2021, the level of grant will be reduced and employers will be asked to contribute towards the cost of their furloughed employees’ wages.
To be eligible for the grant you must continue to pay your furloughed employees 80% of their wages, up to a cap of £2500 per months for the time they spend on furlough.
The government will change the contributions as follows:
Employers are allowed to continue topping up employees’ wages above the 80% total and £2500 cap for the hours not worked at their own expense.
